Homes in

Beaver Dam

When rating local neighborhoods for their natural beauty, North Asheville's Beaverdam community is at the top of the list. Located north of Merrimon Avenue's commercial district and just east of highway I-26, Beaverdam is an upscale community that remains just outside of the hustle and bustle of Asheville City. This neighborhood is centered around Beaver Lake, a sprawling lakeside park, which oozes charm with tree canopy lined thoroughfares and glimpses of close by mountaintops hanging just above the treelines. As you wind through the streets in Beaverdam, you will notice that most homes here are completely unique in design, offering a range of aesthetics and sizes to fit most families' needs. Homes located closest to Beaver Lake are more densely placed and give that suburban community feel, where as some offshoots of the neighborhood offer larger acreage and offer more privacy for each home. Between the charm of the unique homes and the rural, lush setting, you will struggle to find a nicer place to live.

Beaverdam was originally situated along the Beaverdam Creek, a once strong flowing creek that supported local agriculture and ran watermills for local industry in the early 1800's. The creek, now smaller and babbling, still feeds Beaver Lake and other smaller ponds in the area.  Beaver Lake is a hotbed of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Residents nearby are allowed to boat, fish, and paddleboard on the water, or enjoy the walking trails that surround the lake. On the southern end, Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary is frequented by a wide variety of native species, from birds to beavers and beyond. Just east of the neighborhood, residents can access the French Broad River, known locally as a great place to kayak, tube, and paddleboard.

This community is bordered on the west by Highway I-26, and on the east by the taller mountain ridges off of Town Mountain. You can quickly access the commercial district off Merrimon Avenue, and the area surrounding the University of North Carolina Asheville. Downtown Asheville's fun and funky restaurants, bars, and shops are just a few miles away, but for a smaller town vibe, visit Weaverville in less than a ten minute drive! Travel often? The Asheville Regional Airport is just over a twenty minute drive down I-26. Fee safe knowing Mission Hospital lies just a 15 minute drive away.

In Beaverdam, you don't have to sacrifice your proximity to town to live in dreamy mountain setting. Have it all by purchasing a home here!
