Homes in

Etowah

Etowah, a suburb of nearby Hendersonville and Brevard, is a quieter community with views of the Blue Ridge Mountain chain to the west. As a developing area in Western North Carolina, Etowah is enjoying some new businesses and an influx of residents, making the area an "up and coming" place to call home. People enjoy living here due to the relatively low cost of living, with affordable county taxes, lower home prices in comparison to nearby cities, and reasonable utility costs. In addition, the properties in this area are not often built on top of one another, so you can expect most homes with have larger acreage and privacy in a mature forested setting. The western and higher elevation portion of Etowah will also sport mountain views, without much development between this town and the Pisgah National Forest land to the west.

Homes here range in style, with a majority being brick ranchers, rustic cabins, traditional one-level homes, and the occasional arts and crafts bungalow. The homes lying closer to Brevard Road, the main thoroughfare, will enjoy city sewer and water, but homes further out will have independent well and septic systems to maintain. Prices range based on exact location, but you can expect to find a home for around 20% less than nearby Asheville comparable homes.

As Etowah develops, they are adding some fun local hangout spots for residents to enjoy. Visit Sideways Farm and Brewery on a sunny day to try their naturally carbonated beer, or to pick flowers from their expansive U-Pick garden. For food, enjoy great seafood delivered fresh at the Salty Landing, or share a pie at the Blue Ridge Pizza Company. Etowah is also known for its highly rated Etowah Valley Golf Club and Lodge, featuring a 27-hole course winding through the hills. For the outdoor activities, locals visit the Pisgah National Forest, just putside of Brevard, where there are hundreds of miles of hiking trails, camping sites, rock climbing, kayaking, and more. Or if you prefer the full urban experience, take the 30 minute drive to Downtown Asheville, where there is no lack of incredible music, art, dining, and activities to experience.

For health concerns, you can arrive at the Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville within 13 minutes. For travel, you can fly from the Asheville Regional airport, only a 15 minute drive away.
