Homes in

Five Points

Located just north of bustling Downtown Asheville is the historic neighborhood of Five Points. Named after the five-way intersection at the center of the community, Five Points features a mix of Victorian, Southern Classic, and Contemporary homes in one of the most walkable and convenient neighborhoods in the area. As development expands from the city center, Five Points is acquiring more locally-owned coffee shops, restaurants, and shops along the Chestnut Street and Broadway Street corridors. As you continue north along Broadway Street, you will encounter the  University of North Carolina Asheville campus, where over 3,000 students attend school annually. This campus even hosts the UNC Lookout Observatory, a popular place to catch the sunset, and the UNC Botanical Gardens, a 10-acre park featuring the best of local plant life. To say the least, this area in town has the suburban feel of a well-maintained historic neighborhood with mature wooded landscapes that give it that extra charm factor.

Homes in Five Points are on the higher end of values for Buncombe County, predominantly due to its location just minutes from Downtown Asheville.  While their may be a few opportunities to purchase land and build, most people who move to Five Points will be purchasing an older home with plenty of character. While lot sizes are not likely over half an acre, many homes have built expansive and creative outdoor spaces to maximize on this community's natural beauty. One drawback will be less room for garages and driveways, so there is a fair bit of street parking for the residents.

Any direction you head from Five Points presents a new set of unique local amenities. Residents benefit from the established commercial corridors of Merrimon Avenue and Charlotte Street, while also having quick access to the River Arts District's many studios and galleries, the French Broad River, the charming downtown in Weaverville to the north, and much more. And we cannot move on without commenting on the quirky, artsy and community-focused business district in Downtown Asheville, with too many excellent restaurants, stores, bars, boutiques, and more available just minutes away. Mission Hospital is just a five minute drive away, and the Asheville Regional Airport lies a short 6.5 miles from this district. You cannot beat this blend of city living and convenience!
