Residents here enjoy over 30 miles of hiking trails that weave through hundreds of acres of forested land, including popular hikes like the Graybeard Trail that features advanced climbs and a waterfall on the path. Numerous other outdoor adventures, like popular Catawba Falls and Mount Mitchell, are within a short drive of the town. The nearest amenities to Montreat are located within Black Mountain, which hosts its own historic downtown with local shops and eateries, and has its own culture of community events that brings the locals together. 

Homes in Montreat are generally on the higher end of home prices for Buncombe County, which is due to the limited amount of homes here and the increasing demand. The homes follow the town's clean aesthetic with well-maintained exteriors, expansive landscaping, and unique home design that make them attractive for most buyers. The lots for each home tend to be larger than ones closer to Asheville, giving privacy and breathing room between you and your neighbors. Overall, it is hard to pass through Montreat and not find a house you could classify as your "dream home."

Amenities for Montreat include Montreat College and Conference Center, which annually bring thousands of seasonal tourists and resident to the area. Just a five minute drive away, Black Mountain hosts a mix of some larger big box retailers and local stores, and a wealth of unique restaurants like the Red Rocker Inn, the Trailhead, and My Father's Pizza. Mission Hospital lies about a 25 minute drive away, and the Asheville Regional Airport is just over 30 minutes from Montreat.
