Homes in

Ridgecrest

Ridgecrest is a small community lying just east of larger Black Mountain. Aptly named, the town lies along the last of the mountain peaks as you head eastward into lower elevations. Originally a railroad town, Ridgecrest transformed into a camping retreat destination in the early 1900's, and continues that tradition to this day. Now the town is predominantly a residential area that centers the Ridgecrest Convention Center, a sprawling retreat center that hosts hundreds of events a year.

Homes in the area are varied in terms of housing style, including arts and crafts bungalows, traditional cabins, new construction mountain modern homes and many more. Homes here cost marginally less than in nearby Black Mountain, however the charming historic Black Mountain downtown lies just a five minute drive away. Residents here enjoy the expansive amount of locally owned shop and eateries that inhabit the charming brick buildings lining the main fares. Enjoy breakfast on the porch of a colonial farmhouse at Louise's Kitchen, or pick up a freshly baked loaf at the Four Sisters bakery.  The downtown area is bordered by Lake Tomahawk, which hosts a community park that has walking trails, greenspaces, and the Black Mountain Pool. And of course, there are many more outdoors adventures to be had in the local state parks and hiking hubs.

Mission Hospital lies about a 25 minute drive away, and the Asheville Regional Airport is just over a 30 minute drive.
