When you are looking for the convenience of a more urban city nearby while enjoying the quaintness of a smaller town, Weaverville is the perfect option. Lying just 15 minutes drive north of Downtown Asheville, Weaverville has it's own subculture and lifestyle. Explore the relaxed downtown area with coffee shops, bakeries, local art galleries, shops, and more. Weaverville also contains something for the outdoorsy types. Lake Louise Park, a short drive from town center, has playground facilities, picnic shelters, a walking track, grills and fishing. Or walk the greenways in the Main Street Nature Park, accessible from the Downtown Area. 

Nearby, there are a couple smaller noteworthy cities as well. The Town of Marshall is a riverside town pinched between northern end of the French Broad River and taller peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Known for Blannahassett Island, a mid-river island and public park, Marshall has a picturesque setting and a close-community feel. More north of Weaverville is the community of Mars Hill, housing Mars Hill University. Between Mars Hill, Marshall, and Alexander you will find more of the outdoor adventure opportunities in the area. Walk riverside on the Laurel River hiking trail, mosi on the Appalachian Trail, or camp in one of many private sites all within a short drivable distance. 

Homes in the Weaverville area are traditionally resales, however new constructions homes are just starting to appear as Asheville's city center expands. Homes here tend to have larger lots, more privacy, and predominantly lie in areas not governed by Homeowner's Associations. If you purchase within Marshall or Alexander, you will enjoy marginally lower Madison County taxes.
